Poppana and the raiders of the lost bunny 8

This is my own "project", which I created at some point among others. :) It's s a story of a little girl, Poppana, who gets lost in the woods trying to find her stuffed bunny. 

Here the gang tries to help an ttapped in a plastic bubble. (Must be a big bottle...  Don't mind! :D) 

The illustration is made with dry ink pen and colored pencils.

In this phase the gang has to ask advice from the local judges, and well, bureaucracy get's too hard for them.

The frog is called Esteban, and he's famous and fabulous crane racer.

There are lots of goblins and gnomes in Finnish folktales, so I had to borrow traditions a bit. :)

Ps. One character might look familiar, because I wanted to make an intertextual reference to one of the most legendary contemporary illustrators/bookmakers in Finland. Maybe you'll find it..? :D

In the summer 2015 I produced an illustration for Kirsti Paltto's Sami children's book called Valkoinen kivi (White Stone). Book contains a colored cover and 12 black and white illustrations, here is one example. :)

The project was also my thesis, and objective was to find answers to the questions of how to emphasize the Sami aspect visually and how to give life to the black and white illustrations.
